Het assortiment precisie-instrumenten van Keithley Instruments is aangevuld met de KPCI-488LP Low Profile GPIB Controller Interface plug-in board. Door de gunstige prijs/prestatieverhouding helpt de GPIB interface testkosten terug te dringen. Om de omschakelkosten te reduceren is de driverbibliotheek wat de commando’s betreft compatibel met Keithley, Capital Equipment Corporation en National Instruments. Verder biedt hij volledige softwareondersteuning voor Windows XP en 2000. Bovendien ondersteunt model KPCI-488LP de industriestandaard VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture). Hij is te gebruiken in combinatie met programmeertalen zoals Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET, Borland C Builder, LabVIEWTM en LabWindows/CVITM.
